Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing a lightweight cylinder improved in pressure resistance by using a comparatively rigid, lightweight stainless steel as a material. Stress cracking of the cylinder body can be minimized by carrying out a sensitization heat treatment process (c) following deep drawing (b-2) in a molding formation process to thereby relax residual stress produced in the cylinder body which is formed by deep drawing. The cylinder body (11) thus produced is then subjected to solution heat-treatment process (g) and the martensite phase is reversely transformed to the austenite phase, thus removing magnetism, inhibiting corrosion and removing residual stress of the cylinder body (11).
