Abstract:

A collector is covered with sodium metal after (1) a step wherein a sodium dispersion, which contains sodium metal and at least one substance selected from the group consisting of imide salts and binders, is applied over a collector and heated/dried thereon in an inert gas environment (wherein the oxygen concentration is 0.01% or less and the dew point is -10˚C or less), (2) a step wherein a solid sodium metal piece, the surface of which has a metallic luster, is compression bonded onto a collector in the above-described inert gas environment, (3) a step wherein sodium metal is vapor deposited on a collector in a reduced pressure environment, or (4) a step wherein a collector that has a surface fired at 150-300˚C is immersed in molten sodium metal, from the surface of which a coating film composed of impurities has been removed, in the above-described inert gas environment.
