Abstract:

A method of producing an electrophotographic form plate which has high process image quality and high printing image quality, keeps stable performance for a long period of continuous operation, and is suitable for scanning exposure by a laser beam. A toner image is formed on an electrophotographic material, which includes an electrophotographic photoreceptor whose surface offers good releasability, and a chemically removable transfer layer containing thermoplastic resin on the photoreceptor surface. The toner image is then thermally transferred to a support for a lithographic press together with the transfer layer, and the thermoplastic resin is removed by treating the transfer layer with an aqueous alkali solution, etc., to provide a form plate.
