Abstract:
The present disclosure addresses the problem of providing a method for producing a new ellagic acid-containing composition capable of improving solubility of ellagic acid. The present embodiment is a method for producing an ellagic acid-containing composition, the method involving: a step for preparing a solution containing at least an aqueous medium and a raw material derived from a plant of the genus Terminalia and including ellagic acid; and a step for subjecting the solution to heating treatment. The production method according to the present embodiment further involves a step for conducting hydrolysis treatment for hydrolyzing an ellagitannin included in the raw material and further generating ellagic acid, wherein the solution having been subjected to the hydrolysis treatment is subjected to heating treatment.
