Abstract:
The present invention is a method for producing an epoxy compound comprising the following steps 1 through 4: step 1, in which a chlorohydrin ring-closing reaction is performed using an alkali agent to obtain a composition comprising an epoxy compound, an inorganic salt, and water; step 2, in which the inorganic salt and water generated by step 1 are treated using an electrodialyzer having a bipolar membrane and are thereby regenerated and recovered with the alkali agent and acid; step 3, in which the composition that has a reduced inorganic salt concentration and has been emitted from compartment 1 of step 2 is fed to compartment 2 and/or compartment 3 of step 2 and recycled as an aqueous electrolyte solution; and step 4, in which the alkali agent recovered in step 2 is recycled as the alkali agent of step 1.
