Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a method capable of producing a fluorinated polyether of a theoretical number-average molecular weight calculated from the number-average molecular weight of a raw material polyether compound at a high yield. [Solution] A method for producing a fluorinated polyether characterized by including a step (1) for performing an operation to adjust the molecular weight distribution of a polymer compound having a structural unit (R1-O) and obtaining a raw material compound represented by formula (X) and a step (2) for, after the step (1), introducing the raw material compound represented by formula (X), an inert gas, fluorine gas, and a solvent into a reactor to fluorinate the raw material compound. R4-O-(R1-O)x-R5 (X) (R1 is a C2-5 divalent hydrocarbon group; R4 and R5 each independently are a hydroxyl group protecting group; and x represents the average degree of polymerization and is a real number of 2.7-15.)
