Abstract:
Provided are: a method for producing a fluorine-containing polymer, which has high polymerization rate and excellent productivity, and by which a fluorine-containing polymer having a high molecular weight is stably obtained, while reducing the environmental load; a method for producing a fluorine-containing polymer having a functional group; and a method for producing an electrolyte membrane. A method for producing a fluorine-containing polymer, wherein: a monomer mixture that contains tetrafluoroethylene and a fluorine-containing monomer having a group that is able to be converted into a sulfonic acid group or a carboxylic acid group is polymerized in a polymerization medium; and the polymerization medium is mainly composed of a cyclic hydrofluorocarbon that has 4-10 carbon atoms. A method for producing a fluorine-containing polymer having a functional group and a method for producing an electrolyte membrane, each of which utilizes this method for producing a fluorine-containing polymer.
