Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for producing gelatin microspheres (GMS) which can be rapidly decomposed. According to an aspect of the present invention, provided is a method for producing gelatin microspheres, the method comprising the steps of: preparing an aqueous gelatin solution, wherein the aqueous gelatin solution has a concentration of 2-10 wt% and preheated to 45 °C; adding the aqueous gelatin solution dropwise to olive oil at a predetermined reaction temperature and stirring to form a water-in-oil emulsion; cooling the formed water-in-oil emulsion while stirring to cause gelling; producing gelatin microspheres by mixing the gelled water-in-oil emulsion with cooled acetone and stirring the mixture; and filtering the produced gelatin microspheres and washing same with acetone to remove residual oil, followed by natural drying.
