Abstract:
A method for producing a glass article which includes a conveyance step in which a base glass sheet G1, which has ear portions Gx at both ends along the width direction perpendicular to the sheet-drawing direction, is conveyed along a conveyance route. The conveyance step comprises an ear-portion removal step in which the ear portions Gx of the base glass sheet G1 are removed by cutting on the conveyance route and a strain measurement step in which after the ear-portion removal step, the product glass sheet G2 from which the ear portions Gx have been removed is irradiated on the conveyance route with laser light L and the strain is measured.
