Abstract:
A method for producing a glass film includes: a conveyance step of conveying a long glass film G along the direction of the length of the glass film G; and a cutting step of irradiating the glass film G with laser beam L from a laser irradiation device 19 while conveying the glass film G by the conveying step to separate the glass film G. In the cutting step, a thread-like stripping product Ge is produced in a helical form from a width-direction end part of the separated glass film G. The width W of the thread-like stripping product Ge is 180 to 300 μm inclusive. The diameter D of the helix of the thread-like stripping product Ge is 80 to 200 mm inclusive.
