Abstract:
The present invention establishes a preparation technique with which it is possible to increase the metal powder filling percentage and obtain a uniform metal powder preform devoid of internal defects, and thereby provides a technique whereby the preform is impregnated with an Al alloy, etc., under high pressure or is subjected to pressureless metal infiltration so as to obtain a high-metal-powder-content aluminum composite that has a high metal content and a low incidence of cracks and defects. The present invention provides a method for producing a high metal powder content aluminum composite body in which in a preform preparation step, two or more types of materials having different particle diameters are selected from metal powder materials measuring 1-200 mm, a molded product obtained from a material in which an organic-inorganic binder is added to and mixed with the above metal raw materials is fired at a temperature equal to or higher than 300°C, a preform having a metal raw material content of 55 v% or above is obtained, and the obtained preform is impregnated or penetrated, at a high pressure or under no pressurization, with a molten metal such as that of an aluminum alloy. The present invention also provides a composite body produced by the manufacturing method, and a method for preparing the above preform.
