Abstract:
The method for producing hydrocarbon oil is provided with a step for removing the sulfur fraction and metal fraction in a feedstock oil by bringing the feedstock oil into contact with a catalyst in the presence of hydrogen gas; the catalyst has a porous support, a first active metal supported by the support, and a second active metal supported by the support; the total volume of pores having a pore diameter of 2 nm to less than 12 nm among all of the pores formed in the catalyst is 0.15 to 0.28 mL/g; the total volume of pores having a pore diameter of 12 nm to less than 16 nm among all of the pores formed in the catalyst is 0.28 to 0.45 mL/g; the first active metal is at least one type selected from the group consisting of chromium, molybdenum, and tungsten; and the second active metal is at least two types selected from the group consisting of cobalt, rhodium, iridium, nickel, palladium, and platinum.
