Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to compensate for iodine deficiency in the organism of a patient by using a food product that contains iodinated food proteins or iodinated tyrosine. When using a food protein iodinated with tyrosine amino-acid residue, such as cow-milk casein, or when using the iodinated tyrosine itself, it is possible to obtain a regular and standardised administration of iodine into the organism. The use of the organically bound iodine is convenient and cheap. This method provides for a better physiological compensation of iodine deficiency relative to the existing methods.
