Abstract:
Provided is a biological method for improving isoprene productivity. More specifically, provided are: an isoprene synthase-expressing microorganism that shows improved expression of pyrophosphate phosphatase; and a method for producing an isoprene monomer, said method comprising culturing the isoprene synthase-expressing microorganism in a culture medium and thus synthesizing the isoprene monomer. The aforesaid microorganism may have an ability to synthesize dimethylallyl diphosphate via a methylerythritol phosphate pathway, or an ability to synthesize dimethylallyl diphosphate via a mevalonate pathway.
