Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for producing a ketene derivative wherein the consumption of a phosphorus compound can be reduced and the discharge of the phosphorus compound into the environment can be also reduced.
A method for producing a ketene derivative, said method comprising step (i) for subjecting acetic acid to pyrolysis in the presence of a phosphorus-containing catalyst in a reactor to give a ketene-containing pyrolysis gas, step (ii) for cooling the pyrolysis gas and thus separating the same into a ketene-containing gaseous component and a liquid condensate containing a phosphorus compound (a), and step (iii) for reacting the ketene with another organic compound to give a ketene derivative, wherein the aforesaid step (i) comprises conducting the pyrolysis while supplying the liquid condensate containing the phosphorus compound (a) or a liquid prepared by concentrating the same into the reactor.
