Abstract:
The production method according to the present invention is characterized in that a D-amino acid oxidase used in step 2 in the scheme shown below is a polypeptide selected from the below-mentioned polypeptides (a) to (c). According to the production method, L-penicillamine can be produced from D-penicillamine with high efficiency without the need of performing racemization and optical resolution. (a) A polypeptide which comprises the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:2; (b) a polypeptide which comprises an amino acid sequence having such a structure that one or more amino acid residues other than a valine residue at position-230 and a phenylalanine residue at position-242 in the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:2 are substituted, added, inserted or deleted, and has a D-amino acid oxidase activity; and (c) a polypeptide which comprises an amino acid sequence having 90% or higher sequence identity to the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:2 (provided that a valine residue at position-230 and a phenylalanine residue at position-242 in SEQ ID NO:2 are conserved in the amino acid) and has a D-amino acid oxidase activity.
