Abstract:
A method for producing methane by converting carbon dioxide from methanogens in an activated oil reservoir, the method comprising the following steps: (1) determining through analysis that at least one of syntrophic monads or thermotogae exists in target oil reservoir fluid, and at least one of methanobacteria, thermophilic methanobacteria, methanolinea, methanospirillum or methanoculleus also exists in the target oil reservoir fluid; (2) infusing acetic acid or acetate into the oil reservoir, such that the concentration of the acetic acid or the acetate in the water of the oil reservoir is 5.0-10.0 mM; (3) acquiring the methane. The method greatly improves carbon dioxide reduction type methanogenesis rate, and is economical, convenient and feasible.
