Abstract:
The present invention provides an extremely efficient decomposing agent or decomposition conditions for producing a hydroxy group-containing modified polyacetal resin. Specifically, a modified polyacetal resin (A1) having an ester-bonded side chain is prepared, and the modified polyacetal resin (A1) is heated in the presence of a hydrolysis agent selected from quaternary ammonium compounds and basic heterocyclic compounds, thereby hydrolyzing an ester bond to form a hydroxy group.
