Abstract:
In the present invention, molten iron is obtained at a low electric power consumption rate by preheating a cold iron source efficiently and reliably by ascertaining preheating conditions of the cold iron source. The method is for producing molten iron in an electric furnace having a preheating chamber and a melting chamber, said method having a cold iron source charging step, a cold iron source preheating step having a preheating ascertainment step, a supply step, and a melting step.
