Abstract:

The method for producing an aromatic hydrocarbon of the present invention is a method for producing an aromatic hydrocarbon wherein a catalyst for the production of a monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbon containing crystalline aluminosilicate is brought into contact with a light crude oil having a 10 vol% distillation temperature of 140 to 205ºC and a 90 vol% distillation temperature of 300ºC or less that has been prepared from a crude oil having a 10 vol% distillation temperature of 140ºC or higher and a 90 vol% distillation temperature of 380ºC or less, wherein the light crude oil is prepared by distilling crude oil such that the naphthenobenzene content of a single ring in the light crude oil is greater than the naphthenobenzene content of a single ring in the crude oil. The present invention is capable of providing a method with which it is possible to produce, more efficiently than with conventional methods and without the presence of molecular hydrogen under high pressure, a BTX fraction from a fraction containing a decomposed light oil (LCO) generated by an FCC unit.
