Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for producing an oxymethylene copolymer by copolymerizing trioxane with 1,3-dioxolane using boron trifluoride or a coordination compound thereof as a catalyst, wherein the copolymerization is carried out in the presence of a sterically hindered phenol in an amount of 0.006 to 2.0 wt% relative to the amount of trioxane using boron trifluoride or a coordination compound thereof in an amount of 0.01 to 0.07 millimole relative to 1 mole of trioxane as a catalyst, and the polymerization is terminated by bringing the produced oxymethylene copolymer into contact with a polymerization terminator at a time point at which the polymerization yield reaches 92% or more.
