A method for producing a polarizing film, said method comprising: a first coating step wherein a first wet coating film is formed by applying a highly adhesive composition that contains water and a hydrophilic monomer to a bonding surface of a polarizer; a second coating step wherein a second coating film is formed by applying an adhesive composition that contains a radically polymerizable compound and a cationically polymerizable compound to a bonding surface of a transparent protective film; a first thickness measurement step wherein the thickness of the first wet coating film is in-line measured; a drying step wherein a first dry coating film is formed by removing water from the first wet coating film with use of a dryer after the first thickness measurement step; a second thickness measurement step wherein the thickness of the first dry coating film is in-line measured after the drying step; and a dryness adjustment step wherein the dryness of a newly formed first dry coating film is adjusted by adjusting the temperature and/or the air flow rate of the dryer such that the ratio of the thickness of the first dry coating film to the thickness of the first wet coating film satisfies formula (A) below. (A): ((thickness of first dry coating film)/(thickness of first wet coating film)) – (water content in highly adhesive composition) ≤ 0.05
