Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing a polyoxymethylene resin less prone to increase the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere even when incinerated. This method comprises a first step for producing formaldehyde from methanol, and a second step for producing a polyoxymethylene resin from the formaldehyde obtained in the first step, and uses, as the methanol used in the first step, methanol that may be methanol produced from a plant as a raw material. Preferably, methanol produced from glycerin obtained during the production of biodiesel is used as the methanol produced from a plant as a raw material.
