Abstract:
Provided is a method of producing a precursor lens for a globular lens wherein excessive load of a processing tool is reduced at the time of processing, edge of a precursor lens is not missed and a precursor lens is processed into a thin globular lens while keeping a sufficient edge thickness.
The method of producing a precursor lens having a circular external shape and being processed into a globular lens inputs data for specifying the shape of a globular lens in a step for inputting processing data, and makes a precursor lens by processing a material block based on the processing data. An elliptical virtual globular shape surrounding the precursor lens to be made is assumed, processing is performed based on the processing data to the extent of the range of the virtual globular shape, and the amount of sag is varied on the outside of the virtual globular shape thus ensuring the edge thickness of the precursor lens.
