Abstract:
A side chain precursor of paclitaxel and docetaxel is provided at high purity, high yield, and low cost through a method for producing a compound shown by formula (3) using a compound shown by formula (1) as a starting compound. Using the side chain precursor thus obtained makes it possible to provide paclitaxel and docetaxel that are useful as anticancer agents. (In formula (1), R1 is an alkoxy group, arylalkyloxy group, alkylsilyloxy group, or alkoxycarbonyloxy group, R2 is an aryl group, X is one selected from the group consisting of substituents shown by formula (2), and Y is a hydrogen atom or methyl group.) (In formula (3), R2 is defined in the same way as in formula (1), and R3 is an alkoxy group.)
