The objective of the present invention is to provide a method for producing a slurry composition for a secondary battery positive electrode, said positive electrode exhibiting excellent high-potential durability. This method for producing a slurry composition for a positive electrode includes: a step for dry-mixing polymer particles for a secondary battery positive electrode, a positive electrode active material, and a conductive material to obtain a dry mixture; and a step for mixing the dry mixture and a dispersion medium to obtain a slurry composition for a secondary battery positive electrode. Herein, the polymer particles contain a copolymer including a nitrile group-containing monomer unit and a hydrophilic group-containing monomer unit, and have a volume average particle size D50 of 1 μm or more. The ratio of the volume average particle size D50 of the polymer particles to the volume average particle size D50 of the positive electrode active material is 0.1 or more.
