Abstract:
This method for producing a steel pipe has: a first tube expansion step for performing tube expansion of a steel pipe within a range of tube expansion rates having as the upper limit value the greatest value of the tube expansion rate resulting in the equipment load of a tube expander being within an allowed range during tube expansion of the steel pipe and having as the lower limit value the tube expansion rate at which a predetermined circularity is obtained; and a second tube expansion step for performing tube expansion of the steel pipe after the first tube expansion step and at a tube expansion rate at which the diameter of the steel pipe becomes a target value. As a result, it is possible to increase the circularity of the steel pipe without increasing the equipment load of the tube expander.
