Abstract:
The present invention provides a method of producing a tall, large steel sheet pile. A rolling equipment line obtained by disposing, in the stated order, a heating device, a roughing mill, an intermediate rolling mill, and a finishing rolling mill is used to heat raw material and perform a plurality of caliber rolling passes to make a steel sheet pile of a predetermined shape. In the intermediate rolling, an engraved caliber is used for rolling so that the shape after intermediate rolling will be a first shape where a flange section curves or bends outward. This makes it possible to reduce the depth of the caliber to engrave and curb any decrease in roll transverse rupture strength, and increases the range of use of the roll. In the finishing rolling which follows the intermediate rolling, bending and forming are done so that the flange section of the first shape takes on a rectilinear shape or a second shape that is curved or bent inward.
