Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method that partially oxidizes an alkene using a fixed-bed multi-tubular reactor to produce the corresponding unsaturated aldehyde. The fixed-bed multi-tubular reactor is equipped with a plurality of reaction tubes and a reaction bath that regulates the temperature of the plurality of reaction tubes. Two or more catalyst layers are provided in the gas flow direction in the reaction tubes. When, taking the reaction bath temperature at which the yield of unsaturated aldehyde reaches the maximum as A (°C) and the reaction bath temperatures at which the yield becomes 1.0% point lower than the maximum value as A1 (°C) and A2 (°C), the reaction bath temperature between A1 and A2 is plotted as BT (°C) on the horizontal axis and the peak temperature in the catalyst layer on the side closest to the exit is plotted as PTf (°C) on the vertical axis, the slope of an approximate straight line by the method of least squares ΔPTf/ ΔBT is 2.70 or less.
