Abstract:
The present invention is a method for producing a urethane optical member whereby a mixture comprising an aromatic polyisocyanate compound having a melting point of 25ºC or higher and a polythiol compound is cured, the method for producing a urethane optical member being such that after the aromatic polyisocyanate compound is heated and melted to a temperature that is the melting point thereof or higher, the product is mixed with a polythiol compound to obtain a mixed liquid, and the mixed liquid is cured without being heated by maintaining the liquid temperature of the mixed liquid at a temperature that is greater than the precipitation temperature of the aromatic polyisocyanate compound but is lower than the decomposition temperature of the cured product. The present invention provides a method for producing, with high productivity, a urethane optical member that does not fog and has excellent transparency by using an aromatic polyisocyanate that is a solid at 25ºC (normal temperature) and a polythiol compound.
