Title:
METHOD FOR PRODUCING Γ-VALEROLACTONE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2017/085986
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing γ-valerolactone which ensures a high productivity with suppressed elution of metal components. γ-Valerolactone is synthesized by contacting a levulinic acid compound represented by formula (1) [wherein R represents a hydrogen atom, a linear alkyl group having 1-6 carbon atoms or a branched alkyl group having 3-6 carbon atoms] with hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst in which at least two different kinds of metals selected from among the metals of Groups 8-10 of the periodic table are carried on a support.
