Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing a vertical narrow-groove welding joint in which a welded part has exceptional toughness, the method involving the use of a thick-walled high-strength steel material. When two steel materials are butted via a narrow groove having a groove angle of 20° or less and are joined by vertical gas shield arc welding using a weaving, the advancement speed (mm/min) of vertical welding and the multiplicative inverse f(s-1) of a time (s) required for synchronizing the weaving in the vertical gas shield arc welding are adjusted to within ranges that satisfy the relationship v/60/f ≤ 9.0.
