Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for producing water absorbent resin particles, the method comprising a step wherein a polymer is crosslinked by means of a surface crosslinking agent by having the polymer and the surface crosslinking agent react with each other in a mixture of a powder of polymer particles containing the polymer and a crosslinking agent solution containing the surface crosslinking agent and water. With respect to this method for producing water absorbent resin particles: the surface crosslinking agent contains an alkylene carbonate; the amount (mass) of the surface crosslinking agent used therefor is 0.00110 or less relative to a mass of 1 of the total solid content of the polymer particles; and the content (mass) of the alkylene carbonate is 0.009 to 0.027 relative to a mass of 1 of water in the crosslinking agent solution.
