Abstract:
The present invention is a method for purifying a saturated fluorinated hydrocarbon compound having 4 or 5 carbon atoms, characterized by bringing a crude product of the saturated fluorinated hydrocarbon compound into contact with a salt-type strongly acidic ion exchange resin to remove water from the crude product. According to the present invention, a method for purifying a fluorinated hydrocarbon compound is provided, whereby it becomes possible to remove water satisfactorily without undergoing the decrease in purity of the fluorinated hydrocarbon compound which can be caused by the decomposition of the fluorinated hydrocarbon compound.
