Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for purifying iodixanol. The method for purifying iodixanol according to the present invention comprises the following steps: 1) dissolving and filtering an iodixanol raw extract; 2) loading the iodixanol solution obtained after filtering in step 1) onto a chromatograpic column packed with homogeneous reversed phase silica gel, and chromatographing the iodixanol solution by eluting with a mobile phase; and 3) collecting fractions of the iodixanol solution having target peaks and pooling desirable fractions, thereby obtaining purified iodixanol. Homogeneous reversed phase silica gel is employed as the stationary phase, such that the method for purifying iodixanol according to the present invention achieves purification in a single chromatography step, and affords iodixanol having a main single impurity of less than 0.1%, other single impurities of less than 0.05%, a purity of greater than 95%, a yield of greater than 88%, and a high and stable purification yield. The purification method of the present invention is simple and convenient, can be used in mass production, and greatly reduces production costs.
