Abstract:

A method of random access and a base station are provided. The method includes: a base station assigns relay-dedicated Random Access Preamble (RAP) to relay, wherein, the relay-dedicated RAP indicates the access priority of relay is higher than that of ordinary terminal (S502), the base station receives relay-dedicated RAP sent by the relay and RAP sent by ordinary terminal (S504), when it determines the received RAP is said relay-dedicated RAP, the base station performs non-contention random access for the relay preferentially (S506). Through said processing, time that relay randomly access to network is saved, and the success ratio that relay randomly access to network is improved.
