Abstract:
A method for ranging and a terminal device. The method comprises: a first device sends first Bluetooth low energy (BLE) broadcast information, the first BLE broadcast information comprising a first constant tone extension (CTE) signal (S101); the first device records a first transmitting timestamp of the first CTE signal (S102); the first device receives second BLE broadcast information sent by a second device, the second BLE broadcast information comprising a second CTE signal; the first device records a second receiving timestamp of the second CTE signal, the first transmitting timestamp and the second receiving timestamp being used for calculating the distance between the first device and the second device (S103). By using the method, timestamp information used for ranging can be obtained at lower cost.
