Abstract:
A method for receiving system information and a terminal device. The method comprises: the terminal device sends a system information block (SIB)-on-demand request to a network device, the SIB-on-demand request comprising an identifier of at least one SIB demanded by the terminal device; the terminal device obtains, in at least one first time period, downlink control information sent by the network device and used for indicating a time frequency resource corresponding to a first SIB in the at least one SIB, the start time point of the first time period being earlier than or equal to the time point when the terminal device receives confirmation information replied by the network device for the SIB-on-demand request. By means of the present application, the receiving delay of the SIB on demand can be shortened.
