Abstract:
According to one embodiment, this electronic device comprises a communication module, a display module, a memory for storing instructions, and at least one processor operatively coupled to the communication module, the display module, and the memory, wherein the instructions, when implemented by the at least one processor, may instruct the electronic device to: determine whether metadata of a file obtained from an external electronic device is damaged; on the basis of determining that the metadata is damaged, identify at least one external electronic device that can be connected to the electronic device (101); on the basis of identifying the at least one external electronic device, request metadata corresponding to the file from the at least one external electronic device through the communication module; on the basis of the request, receive metadata corresponding to the file obtained by the at least one external electronic device, from the at least one external electronic device through the communication module; and save the received metadata in the memory. Various other embodiments are possible.
