Title:
METHOD OF RECOVERING LACTIDE FROM POLYLACTIC ACID OR DERIVATIVE THEREOF
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2005/105775
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
For chemical recycling of polylactic acid or derivatives thereof or resin compositions containing them, there is provided a method of efficiently recovering or producing a lactide of high optical purity through depolymerization of polylactic acid or derivatives thereof. The method is characterized in that a mixture of polylactic acid or derivatives thereof and aluminum hydroxide is thermally decomposed at temperature falling within the range of melting temperature of polylactic acid or derivatives thereof to 320&ring C to thereby recover lactide.
