Title:
METHOD FOR RECOVERING PLATINUM GROUP ELEMENTS FROM SIC-BASED SUBSTANCE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/111563
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a method that is for recovering platinum group elements from an SiC-based substance and that reduces the temperature at which the SiC-based substance homogeneously melts in slag. The method, which is for recovering platinum group elements by means of melting an SiC-based substance containing the platinum group elements using an Al2O3-CaO-SiO2-based slag after reduction smelting in the ROSE process, is characterized by melting the SiC-based substance using the slag at a melting time and melting temperature selected from a range of melting times and melting temperatures at which the SiC-based substance can homogeneously melt in the slag and that is a range of melting times and melting temperatures determined in accordance with the mass of SiC in the SiC-based substance with respect to the mass of the slag.
