Abstract:
One embodiment of the present invention provides a method for refining a metal by using a liquid metal cathode, comprising the steps of: a) using an electrolytic bath, which includes the liquid metal cathode at the inner lower end thereof and comprises an electrolytic salt, so as to electrolyze a molten salt of a target metal oxide, thereby forming an alloy of a target metal and a liquid metal cathode; and b) separating the liquid target metal-liquid metal cathode alloy generated through the electrolysis of the molten salt, and vacuum distilling same, thereby collecting a high-purity target metal.
