Abstract:
An electronic device according to an embodiment comprises: a communication module including a communication circuit for exchanging data with an external device; and at least one processor that is operatively connected with the communication module and controls the electronic device. The processor receives a scan instruction from a first main device via a first wireless communication link in a first frequency band, detects at least one external electronic device by scanning a second frequency band on the basis of the scan instruction, uses the first wireless communication link to transmit the detection result for the external electronic device to the first main device, uses the first wireless communication link to receive an instruction for establishing a wireless link with the external electronic device from the first main device, establishes the wireless link with the external electronic device by using a second frequency band on the basis of the instruction for establishing a wireless link with the external electronic device, and uses the first wireless communication link to transmit the result of establishing the wireless link to the first main device, wherein the first main device and the electronic device can exchange data via the first wireless communication link, and the external electronic device and the electronic device can exchange data via the wireless link. Various other embodiments may be possible.
