Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for reproducing an n.x.m-type encoded audio signal, where n is an integer designating the number of channels for speakers arranged in a horizontal plane, x is an integer that designates the number of subwoofers, and m is an integer designating the number of channels for overhead speakers, which method comprises the following steps: · extracting, by the decoder of an electronic audio system, the source signal of the signals corresponding to each of the channels; · processing for spatially repositioning the signals corresponding to the front right channels and/or to the front right channels and summing the signals thus repositioned with the main right channel to produce a right signal; · processing for spatially repositioning the signals corresponding to the front left channels and/or to the front left channels t and summing the signals thus repositioned with the main left channel to produce a left signal; and · processing the right and left overhead channels for repositioning heightwise prior to the summation with the right and left channel, respectively; and · low-pass filtering the signals corresponding to the extracted channels and summing with the signal corresponding to the front channel, to produce a front signal.
