Abstract:
The invention discloses a method for reset control of radio link control entity
which comprises: setting a corresponding discard timer for each Packet Data
Convergence Protocol service data unit (PDCP SDU) on Packet Data Convergence
Protocol (PDCP) layer; starting the discard timer when the upper layer of the
PDCP layer transfers the PDCP SDU; stopping the discard timer, setting and starting
an RLC reset timer when a first predetermined condition is fulfilled, and triggering
the reset procedure of the RLC entity when a second predetermined condition is
fulfilled. The first predetermined condition is: the PDCP SDU has been transferred
to the RLC layer and the RLC sequence number has been assigned before the discard
timer expires. The second predetermined condition is: when the RLC reset timer
expires, there exist RLC PDUs which are not transferred successfully among all
of the RLC PDUs.
