Abstract:
Provided is a method for recovering and reusing an active material from positive electrode scrap. The method for reusing a positive electrode active material of the present invention comprises the steps of: (a) dry-grinding positive electrode scrap, comprising a lithium composite transition metal oxide positive electrode active material layer on a current collector, to detach the active material layer in a powder form and separate same from the current collector; (b) adding a lithium precursor to the active material layer, which has been detached in a powder form, and then heat-treating same in air to overcoat or dope the surface of the active material layer with lithium from the lithium precursor, and thermally decomposing a conductive material and a binder inside the active material layer to recover an active material; and (c) washing the recovered active material by means of a lithium compound aqueous solution exhibiting basicity in an aqueous solution state, and drying same to obtain a reusable active material.
