Abstract:
Provided is a method for rust-proofing a mold, which is capable of reducing the time and the cost required for rust-proofing a mold. A rust-proofing step (S1) of a mold (1) comprises: an iron hydroxide formation step (S11) wherein iron hydroxide is formed in a predetermined portion of the surface of the mold (1); and a surface treatment step (S12) wherein a coating film covering the molding surface of the mold (1) is formed and the iron hydroxide formed in the mold (1) is changed into black rust by heating the mold (1), in which iron hydroxide has been formed in the iron hydroxide formation step (S11), in an oxygen deficient atmosphere.
