The present invention is for selecting a beam for communication. An electronic device may comprise: a housing; at least one antenna array including antenna elements which are disposed within the housing or formed on a part of the housing; at least one processor electrically or operatively connected to the antenna array and configured to form a plurality of receive beams (rx beams) having different directions by using the antenna array; and a memory operatively connected to the processor. The memory may store instructions which enable the processor to measure, by using the plurality of receive beams, the intensity values of signals of a plurality of transmit beams transmitted from at least one base station and having different directions, generate measurement results of (number of receive beams) × (number of transmit beams), and select one of a plurality of methods for selecting one from among a plurality of beam pairs equal to (number of receive beams) × (number of transmit beams) on the basis of at least a portion of the measurement results.
