A flat glass 2 having a printed layer 3 and bonded to a base 5 with an adhesive layer 4 can be separated as a layer from an article 1, by irradiating the printed layer with laser light 6 to thereby carbonize an organic component in the entire printed layer and separating the printed layer as a layer.
