Abstract:
Provided in the present application is a method for smelting a nickel-containing metal, which comprises the following steps: step one, mixing a low grade nickel material with lime and performing oxidative roasting, and obtaining a nickel-iron ore material; step two, performing pelletization on the nickel-iron ore material with a first reducing agent, sodium sulfate, water, and a binding agent and obtaining nickel-iron ore granule pellets, adding the nickel-iron ore granule pellets into a rotary kiln, then adding a second reducing agent, performing pre-reduction, and obtaining a high grade nickel-iron raw material; and step three, using an SRV furnace and performing smelting reduction on the high grade nickel-iron raw material, and obtaining nickel-containing molten iron. In the highly efficient method for smelting nickel-containing molten iron provided in the present application, the grade of nickel and iron in a raw material fed into a furnace is significantly improved by means of optimizing raw material conditions and pre-processing techniques, and low cost, high quality, and continuous nickel-containing molten iron smelting is achieved, which can be directly used in an AOD refining furnace to smelt nickel-containing stainless steel.
